Alejandro Barletta
Argentinian composer, born 1925, died 2008.
Alejandro Barletta was born on September 20th, 1925, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Barletta studied composition with Giuseppe Logionvine, Athos Palma, Julián Bautista, and Alberto Ginastera before attending Schola Cantorum in Paris for 12 years, where he completed his studies with Daniel Lesur and Pierre Wismer. An accomplished, self-taught bandoneon player, Barletta played more than 2,000 concerts throughout 35 countries. Barletta taught at the National Conservatory in Argentina as the first professor of bandoneon.
