Dimitri Cervo

Brazilian composer, born in February, 1968.


Born in the city of Santa Maria, Dimitri Cervo is a composer who created multifaceted works such as Toronubá, The Four Brazilian Seasons and Trombone Concerto. As a frequent conductor and piano performer of his own works, Cervo has collaborated with various ensembles and orchestras. In 2019 he released a praised album with his orchestral music, conducting the Venezuela Symphonic Orchestra. He has fulfilled more than 20 commissions for soloists, ensembles and orchestras. His works for cello ensemble have been widely performed in the USA (by BoCoCelli), in Brazil (by UDI Cello), and in South Korea. His music can be heard on Universal Music, Naxos (oncoming) and Centaur Records labels, among other platforms. His main musical studies of piano, composition and conducting, took place in Brazil (UFRGS and UFBA), Italy (Accademia Musicale Chigiana, Sienna), and the USA (University of Washington, Seattle). He serves as a full professor on the faculty of the Music Department at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
