Leonardo Coral
Mexican composer, born June 6, 1962.
Leonardo Coral was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He studied composition with Federico Ibarra at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Coral has composed well over 130 works for orchestra, chamber and solo. His compositions are performed around the world in countries such as Canada, Australia, the USA, and Mexico. He was awarded at the national competition “Melesio Morales” (2005) and received the Mexican Society of Authors and Composers prize (2007). Coral is currently a member of FONCA and la Liga de Compositores de Música.
