Rubén Blasco
Argentinian composer and guitarist, born December 3, 1956.
Rubén Blasco was born on December 3rd, 1956, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After studying guitar at conservatory Nacional de Música Carlos López Buchardo, Blasco continued his learning under the guidance of Roverto Soriano and Irma Costanzo. Blasco studied piano and composition with César Grimoldi and Manuel Juárez while attending courses in contemporary music. Blasco earned an award for composition from Promociones Musicales in 1983, and a second one from Fondo Nacional de las Artes in 1988. In addition to his career as a guitarist and composer, Blasco taught at the Facultad de Bellas Artes de la University Nacional de La Plata (1984-85) and at the Institute Superior de Música del Collegium Musicum de Buenos Aires (1986-89).
