Dorian Block


Creative Arts Leader & Strategic Marketer

Dorian Block is a trans-masculine individual of Hispanic and Native American heritage from Santa Fe, NM where he grew up attending, performing in, and eventually marketing for The Santa Fe Opera. He contributed to multiple publications including the 2017 Season Program Book and Grammy Award Winning The Revolution of Steve Jobs Hybrid SACD. For The Dallas Opera, he defined the role of Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager serving two seasons and strategically planning two years of content through 2023. Dorian is a mentee of the 2022‒2023 Opera America Mentorship Program for Opera Leaders of Color under the mentorship of Rebekah Diaz and was recently named to the Opera Canada Board of Directors. 

Dorian earned his B.A. in English with an Arts Administration concentration from McMurry University (2015), where he now serves on the Alumni Board of Directors. While there, his proposed solution to legalizing LGBTQI+ protections within the United Nations (UN) framework won international awards at the National Model UN Conference in Rome, Italy. His communications career began as an AmeriCorps VISTA with The Santa Fe Community Foundation in 2016, writing grants for the Santa Fe Mayor and volunteering with NM's largest LGBTQI+ philanthropic entity. 

His decade-long entertainment marketing career spans non-profits with the notable exception of pro-soccer team, New Mexico United, where he contributed to a 3 million dollar merchandise line and box-office-breaking ticket sales leading the United Soccer League Championship in 2019 attendance. He is ready to take the lead in classical music and passionate about strategic visions incorporating socially conscious audience development, revenue diversification, and digital advancement in the performing arts to increase representation of intersectional diversity on both sides of the operatic stage.
