Kerriann Otaño

Vice President of Engagement | OperaDelaware

Kerriann Otaño is a dynamic force in the opera world, known for her vibrant stage career as a professional opera singer and her transformative work in arts advocacy. After a decade on stage performing with prestigious companies including Washington National Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Opera San Jose, and the Metropolitan Opera, Kerriann transitioned into arts leadership and now serves as the Vice President of Engagement with OperaDelaware. In her role, she has pioneered community-centric initiatives and programming that emphasize accessibility, diversity, and the empowerment of artists. Kerriann’s advocacy for artists has been an invaluable addition to OperaDelaware, where the company is pioneering a new employment model that treats artists as salaried employees of the opera company and focuses on creating a sustainable workforce in the arts.  Her work in artist and audience advocacy has led to a successful TEDx on “Joyful Advocacy” which she presented in Nashville in 2023, and a national radio spot on NPR’s Marketplace in 2024. Kerriann's commitment to fostering meaningful connections between opera and diverse audiences is creating a lasting impact in Delaware and beyond.
