Dr. Raynel Frazier
Director of Programming and Artistic Planning | Jazz at Lincoln Center
Dr. Raynel Frazier is a talented arts administrator from Hartford, CT. She started her career in the arts as a trombonist studying Jazz Studies at the Hartt School of Music, Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz. She later went on to get her masters in Arts Administration from American University. After moving to New York City in 2014 she has worked at Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC), one of the premier jazz institutions in this country. As Assistant Director of programming and touring at JALC Raynel booked Dizzy’s Club, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s world-renowned Jazz Club, and was one of the tour managers for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra traveling around the world to expand the global community of Jazz. Since December 2021 Raynel has worked as Programs Producer at Chelsea Factory, a new organization in dedicated to serving the New York City arts community as we navigate post-covid. In her role as Programs Producer Raynel has shaped the Resident Artist Program, developed community programming initiatives and fosters partnerships with artists and arts organizations throughout New York City. Raynel holds a Doctorate of Organization Development and Change from Bowling Green State University. She hopes to use her degree to help arts organizations thrive so that they can produce art that inspires communities.
